Across the Waves

Across the Waves is a post-rock band hailing from Tehran, Iran. Founded in 2010 by Sohail Ershadi (lead guitar), Behzad Khadivi (bass), Farzad Maktabi (rhythm guitar), and Hadi Fayaz (drums), the band quickly gained a devoted following with their energetic live performances and emotive songwriting. 
 
In 2013, Farzad left the band and was replaced by Mehdi Mansouri on rhythm guitar. With their revamped lineup, Across the Waves continued to push the boundaries of the post-rock genre, incorporating elements of metal and indie rock into their sound. 
 
Despite their growing success, the band faced numerous challenges due to the strict laws governing music in Iran. Despite this, Across the Waves persevered and released their final single, "Down into the Muck," in 2015. 
 
After a period of hiatus, Sohail and his wife Sepideh, a talented singer who had previously worked with other metal bands, made the difficult decision to leave Iran and relocate to Australia in search of greater creative freedom. In 2022, the couple reformed Across the Waves, with Sepideh joining the band as lead vocalist.
